The role of cytoreductive surgert in the management of advanced stage and recurrent endometrial cancer with peritoneal involvement – Literature review

Endometrial cancer is one of the most common gynecologic malignancies with an overall good prognosis in cases diagnosed in early stages. However patients diagnosed when disseminated lesions are already present or in which relapse occurs the prognosis is poor, with low rates of survival. In these cases the only way to prolong survival is an aggressive surgical approach, similar to the one performed in advanced stage or relapsed ovarian cancer. This is a literature review regarding the largest studies focused on the issue of debulking surgery in endometrial cancer.
