Contribution to the study and treatment of some particular clinical forms of sudden hear loss Background: Sudden hearing loss is a major health problem because of increasing the number of cardiovascular diseases. Sudden hearing loss is an oto-neurological emergency. Identification and establishment of early treatment help restore hearing quickly and improve the quality of patient life. The authors illustrate this point by presenting a clinical case.
Matherial and Method: The authors present a case of a female, 57 years old, known with chronic right mastoiditis, right medium transmission hypoacusia, submitted to ENT emergency room for left sudden hearing loss, left auditory scraps. The patient was treated with corticosteroid therapy, vasodilators agents, neurotropic and neurothrofic agents, vitamins.
Results: As a result of the treatment we obtain a continuous audiometrical curve to the left ear, with 20-25 decibels auditory recovery.
Conclusions: Correct diagnosis of the clinical form is very important for the composition of an effective therapeutic scheme. Therapeutic scheme used was singled out depending on associated diseases, the time of submission to the doctor and patient age. Nerve growth factors are a modern and advanced therapeutic approach through multimodal effects of which I would like to mention: neuroprotector, neurotropic and neuroregenerative effect.
