Omega-3 Fatty Acids Not Found to Up Risk of Heart Disease

It was discovered that omega-3 fatty acids have no significant association with fatal, nonfatal coronary heart disease or major vascular events. A meta-analysis of all large trials about the correlation of omega-3 fatty acid supplements and the risk of fatal and nonfatal coronary heart disease and major vascular events was conducted by Theingi Aung, M.B.B.S. from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Even if they came with this result, this meta-analysis “provides no support for current recommendations for the use of such supplements in people with a history of coronary heart disease”.
