Introduction: Morgagni hernia is a rare type of diaphragmatic defect, having high risk of incarceration. Case report: We present the case of a 78-years old woman arriving at the ER for upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and constipation for 4 days. CT scan revealed a Morgagni hernia with stomach, transverse colon and greater omentum incarcerated. We decided to use laparoscopic approach achieving a primary tissue repair without mesh implantation.
Conclusions: Laparoscopic approach of the Morgagni hernia with a primary tissue repair without mesh is safely and has the benefits of minimally invasive surgery.
