Introduction. Pre-hospital protocols for diagnosing emergency neurological conditions are essential for rapid identification, stabilization, and improved patient outcomes. Their implementation minimizes complications and ensures timely interventions before hospital admission.
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effectiveness of diagnostic protocols in pre-hospital settings, focusing on strategies that facilitate rapid differential diagnosis and early stabilization. It also examines their impact on reducing complications and ensuring efficient patient transfer.
Material and methods. A systematic approach was used, integrating a literature review with statistical data analysis. Data from the National Emergency Medical Assistance Service of the Republic of Moldova were analyzed to assess the incidence of neurological emergencies and the effectiveness of applied protocols.
Results. The findings indicate that structured protocols enhance the identification and management of urgent neurological conditions. Standardized algorithms and checklists reduced diagnostic delays and improved stabilization. Stroke, traumatic brain injuries, and seizures accounted for over 70% of cases.
Conclusions. The implementation of national strategies and standardized pre-hospital protocols in the Republic of Moldova has improved early diagnosis, reduced intervention times, and enhanced patient outcomes, serving as a model for efficient neurological emergency care.
